Why is their two pair of chopstick put on a table when we order asian food?

In Asian cultures, chopsticks are the traditional utensils used for eating. When you order Asian food, you might notice that two pairs of chopsticks are placed on the table. This is typically done as a hygiene practice to ensure that guests have a fresh pair of chopsticks to use during their meal.

The first pair of chopsticks is used to serve food from shared plates or dishes. This is known as the "public" or "common" chopsticks. Guests use these chopsticks to pick up food from the shared dishes and place it on their own plate or bowl. Once the food has been served, the public chopsticks are returned to the shared dish.

The second pair of chopsticks is meant for personal use only and is known as the "private" chopsticks. Guests use these chopsticks to eat their individual portion of food. This helps to prevent the spread of germs and disease from person to person. Is widely practised after covid 19.

Now even have personal share chopsticks.
