Since they can trigger the reward regions in our brains and give us a sense of fulfilment and accomplishment, greed and power have the ability to seduce humans. Unchecked greed and the desire for power, however, can result in unethical behaviour, harm to others, and a loss of perspective on what matters most in life.

The appeal of greed and power can also be influenced by our social and cultural contexts. Those who gain material prosperity and position are praised and admired in various communities because they are highly appreciated. This might put pressure on a person to achieve these ambitions, even at the price of their relationships and personal values.
